Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The very well-rounded motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the JAM² 6.7 are no problem.
At a glance
The most importanten ratings of the Focus JAM² 6.7
On rough terrain, the JAM² 6.7 with its middle ground Rock Shox chassis lacks bit of control. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. Shifting and components still leave room for improvement. Other providers dig deeper into their pockets for these assemblies. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Focus doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.
